German Shepherds
German Shepherds are smart, lively, athletic and LARGE! Raising a German Shepherd is a great experience because you can watch a little black "puff ball" evolve into a graceful, mature adult. German Shepherds are "deathly" attached to their owners. Some may even have separation anxiety (in fact, it is not uncommon). Shepherds love to give kisses and are energetic (so make sure you have room!) The little puppies do not stay little for long! No! Shepherds can grow up to be 100lbs! Most Shepherds are great with kids and are very friendly. However, some Shepherds can be territorial. Territorial means that a Shepherd does not like other people on their property. So if you do get a German Shepherd, don't be surprised when your dog starts barking at someone walking down the street! You must be very careful though. If someone does walk down the street, and the door is open, a German Shepherd may sniff them over and possible nip! Shepherds are beautiful dogs though. They love attention and some pretend to be "lap dogs"! There is no other dog like THE German Shepherd. German Shepherds are special. Once you befriend a Shepherd they are yours forever. Do not break their heart! Their heart is fragile and if you break it, they will become depressed and sad! Remember to give your Shepherd attention and love every day!
